Optic (2 Versions) (Members Only) My original intention was to release this solely as a dual monitor wallpaper but I have been hassled into submission. This image continues the theme set by 'Genesis', 'Frozen' and 'Magma' (all on this page). Basically all the image comprises of is a light source inside hollow spheres which have a textured, translucent surface. I guess it may be time to call it a day with this particular concept but I just love the detail created by the light coming through the bumpy glass-like material. Very cool. There are two versions available to members. The one depicted on the left, and a lighter, less oppressive version. |

Fusion (Cold) (Members Only) The original 'Fusion' is available to all visitors at 1024x768 and to members only at higher resolutions (right up to 1920x1200). This variation of my original 'Fusion' wallpaper (found below) is only available to members of PlasmaDesign, again up to 1920x1200. |

Fusion (Hot) This is a little different for me in as much as there is no glass or water. In fact there are no solid jobs whatsoever. 'Fusion' is actually a spin-off of another project I am currently working on which is a diagram of the solar system. I have been searching for suitably impressive effects to accurately depict the sun and this image is the result of the experimentation. A widescreen version can be previewed here. |

Frozen (Members Only) This wallpaper is one of a pair of images based upon a hot/cold theme. They were created using Bryce 5 with no post-processing in Photoshop (a rarity for me!). I took inspiration from my last image ('Furnace' that you can see below) and a diagram of the solar system I stumbled across on 'How Stuff Works dot com. |

Gorb (Members Only) I received a lot of positive feedback when I released 'Apple' (found in the photography gallery), with many people commenting on the simplicity and clean lines of the image. 'Gorb' is an attempt to follow this philosophy. The title comes from an anagram of the word 'Borg', which as any trekker knows is the king of the bad guys in the recent Star Trek series'. The cube reminded me of their space ship! There are two subtlety different 1600x1200 versions inside the downloadable zip file. |

Spectrum (Members Only) This is a very simple and minimalist in design. It may be less technically difficult that some of my other work but I just like the 'way it looks'. Its clean and cheerful. I experimented with several different backgrounds but all of the detracted from marbles themselves. So in the end i opted for a plain white surface and sky. I really enjoyed making this image and will probably explore the style further in the future. |

Genesis (Members Only)This image follows on nicely from my last piece, 'Division'. However, it was never meant to. I got the inspiration for this image from an incident involving my dog and a pond full of frog spawn. The result was nowhere near as attractive as the wallpaper! Inspiration can come from the most unlikely sources. |
FurnaceQuite a while ago i created an image called 'Sub-Zero' (which can still be found in the ' Aqua Collection'). I tried to capture a feeling of 'coldness'. At the same time I experimented with the idea of creating a similar image which felt hot rather than cold. I never got around to finishing it and ended up losing the file in amongst the thousands of others on my poor laptop. I have been working with a lot of 'blue' images recently so I thought it might be a good time to resurrect it. |

Division (Members Only)This image is my attempt at illustrating the process by which a cell divides to form two daughter cells. Upon completion of the process, each daughter cell contains the same genetic material as the original cell and roughly half of its cytoplasm. |

Solar Hex (Members Only) This image is based on a photograph of a 'solar sail' I came across while reading a technology magazine during my lunch break. Both versions are only available to members and is rendered at a resolution of 1600x1200. |
Binary 2 This piece began life as one of 5 samples I prepared for a client. I think it works well as a wallpaper as its not too distracting and doesn't make the text and icons difficult to read. All three versions are included in the one zip file. |
