desktop wallpapers - weather front

Weather Front (Members Only) I recently purchased my first Wacom tablet. For those not familiar with computer tablets, it is an input device that attempts to mimic the pencil and paper of the conventional art genre. The operator moves a pen over a trackpad (similar to those found on today's laptops but much larger) and the strokes are reproduced on the screen. This new method of working has taken some getting used to. The blending between the computer generated forground and the 2D photographic backdrop (generously made available for use by Thomas Khran) is achieved using Photoshop CS using the new Wacom Intuos 3 tablet.

desktop wallpapers - glacier

Glacier (Members Only)I was emailed by a visitor who pointed out to me that most of my landscapes tend to be of a tropical or water-based nature. He asked if I plan on creating any images of valleys or mountains. This is my response. Believe it or not there are over 90 fir trees in this composition. I also spent many hours trying to get the mountainous terrain exactly as I wanted it with fluvial erosion and all.

desktop wallpapers - streaked skies

Streaked Skies (Members Only)Rendered in Bryce 5 with finishing touches added using Photoshop 6. The streaked sky effect was achieved by stretching the original Bryce-generated sky using Photoshop

desktop wallpapers - the balcony

The Balcony (Members Only)Based on a photo I came across while browsing through a brochure of the Seychelles, I borrowed the yacht from an earlier image (The Needles). Photoshop was used to add the algae above the waterline of the two submerged rocks.

desktop wallpapers - stranded

StrandedThis is my first image after taking a break for a couple of months. (The time was used to execute the site redesign). I think its the British weather that spurs me to create these tropical images. I have noticed that when England has long rainy spells, I feel the urge to create sun-drenched island panoramas. There is also a sunset version included in the ZIP file. This image is available to all at a resolution of 1024x768 and to members at 1600x1200. There are also widescreen versions available to members (at a resolution of 1920x1200).

desktop wallpapers - bora 2002

Bora 2002 (Members Only) Every now and then I spend some time looking through my back catalogue of artwork. I often find images that now look tired and dated. One such image is the original version of Bora. So I decided to give it a makeover and completely update it. Bora 2002 is the result. Also available is a sunset version .

desktop wallpapers - bora

Bora (Members Only)A virtual place I would love to be able to make reality. Inspired by a place called Paradise Island in the mouth of the river Gambia, Africa.

desktop wallpapers - Loch

Loch (Members Only)Being my interpretation of a cold but stormy winters day on the banks of a Scottish loch, I used a particularly wide 'virtual' lens to create the expansive skyscape.

desktop wallpapers - kestrel valley

Kestrel Valley Since creating 'Glacier' I have received a lot of requests asking for images of a similar style. Kestrel Valley is a deliberate attempt to create an image which compliments both Glacier and 10,000ft.
