Weather FrontSoftware used: Vue d'Esprit 4.2, Photoshop CS I recently purchased my first Wacom tablet. For those not familiar with computer tablets, it is an input device that attempts to mimic the pencil and paper of the conventional art genre. The operator moves a pen over a trackpad (similar to those found on today's laptops but much larger) and the strokes are reproduced on the screen. This new method of working has taken some getting used to. The blending between the computer generated forground and the 2D photographic backdrop (generously made available for use by Thomas Khran) is achieved using Photoshop CS using the new Wacom Intuos 3 tablet. |

On The Golden PondCreated June 2002 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 Being only 28, I only vaguely recollect the Henry Fonda film from which I borrowed the title. All I really remember is the beautiful shots of them fishing on a huge lake in the middle of nowhere. That is what I have tried to capture in this image. |

Island HopperCreated September 2004 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4.2 This is probably the last landscape wallpaper I will create using Vue d'Esprit 4. I think I have pretty much exhausted its capabilities now. Expect future landscapes to look a little different and (hopefully) more realistic. |

Wind LakeCreated February 2004 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4.2, Photoshop CS There has been a lot of debate in the south of England over recent months regarding a bank of wind turbines that have been erected in Weymouth Bay. The local residents consider them an eye sore and want them removed. Personally I can think of much worse structures that could be constructed on ones doorstep. And in these times of frequent floods, unusually hot summers and generally strange weather, I think these wind turbines should be encouraged as a way of protecting our planets future. Just my two cents:) |

StrandedCreated November 2003 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 There are two versions contained in the ZIP file. The first is set at dusk (as shown on the left). The second depicts the same scene, but in the midday sun. The version shown favors Macs as there is plenty of empty space for icons on the right. But fear not Windows users. The ZIP also includes versions with the palm trees on the right (therefore leaving space on the left for windows icons). |

LakesideCreated June 2004 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4.2, Photoshop CS 'On The Golden Pond' (found below) is the most popular landscape image i have created (judging by the download figures compiled by the server). I get many requests for more 'lake' scenes. I created this image as a response to these requests and to compliment 'On The Golden Pond'. |

BoraCreated December 2001 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 A virtual place I would love to be able to make reality. Inspired by a place called Paradise Island in the mouth of the river Gambia, Africa. This is one of my very early images. Some aspects of it are not that realistic, nevertheless I still like it. |

MartianCreated July 2003 Software used: Vue d"Esprit 4.1 One of the things that fascinated me most as a kid was the stars and planets. To some extent I guess I have lost some interest as I have gotten older; mainly because I am forced to worry about much more mundane things like debts, work and a football team that never wins. But recently there seems to have been a flurry of news stories focusing on mans latest endeavors into space and particularly Mars. So I sat down and tried to create what I believe the surface of the red planet may look like. |

CycloneCreated May 2003 Software used: Photoshop 7 Alright! Alright! I know its not really a landscape image. Putting that aside, there has been a large time gap between this image and my last attempt at a space scene. I am very pleased with the results. |

Cotton RiseCreated December 2002 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 Created using Vue d'Esprit 4, I went to more trouble than usual to create the clouds found in the original version. For the newly rendered widescreen version I have altered the coloring adding a little more red to the overall atmosphere. |

The BalconyCreated August 2002 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 This was one of early images. I was very proud of it back in 2000 but I have grown a little tired of it since. However, I have chosen to add it to the widescreen collection because it is still one of the most downloaded images on the site and seems very popular. |

CanopyCreated July 2002 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 Again, this is one of my older images. I have altered the coloration and lighting especially for the widescreen render, but for those who prefer the original I have also included it in the zip file. |

SeclusionCreated August 2002 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 I created this image after an exceptionally bad day at work. i wanted to try and draw a place that seemed miles from anyone. Completely secluded. This image is the result. |

Purple LakeCreated December 2002 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 I usually try and create landscapes with as high a degree of realism as possible. This image is an exception to that rule. The atmosphere is obviously not modeled on a typical sky. Instead I opted for something with a little more of a 'fantasy' feel. |

Cherry EveCreated April 2003 Software used: Vue d'Esprit 4 I have been toying with this image for quite a while now. I could never quite get the sky looking quite right or the perspective accurate. I was inspired to persevere with it after browsing through a book of photos of the New Forest, UK. |
