Ransom Wilson is a world renowned classical flutist and conductor. Ransom is the founder and conductor of Solisti New York Orchestra, as well as the Artistic Director of Oklahoma's OK MOZART International Festival. He has been guest conductor of many prestigious ensembles, including the Houston Symphony, Hallé Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke's, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Metropolitan Opera. He has recorded 30 albums as both flutist and conductor, and was three times nominated for the "Grammy" award. Other awards he has received include the Alabama Prize from the New York Times Foundation, and the Award of Merit in Gold, from the Republic of Austria.
Mr Wilson was keen to incorporate a fresh, sleek & modern look into his web site, challenging the stereotypical views and preconceptions of classical music. PlasmaDesign worked with Mr Wilson to create a complex yet clean looking site. This was achieved by heavy use of CCS; a new technology that allows greater control of the sites overall look and layout while still allowing search engines like Google to index every pages text and therefore increase search rankings . Macromedia Flash animation was used to create the navigation system. This gives the pages a dynamic feeling, creating a more engaging user experience for the sites visitors.
