What is iCurve?

The iCurve from Griffin Technology is a laptop stand designed specifically for the Apple PowerBook and iBook. Its main purpose is to better position the iBook or PowerBook in your permanent desktop environment. In addition it provides an innovative way for the creative professional to transform their notebook and external monitor into an ergonomic and attractive dual monitor setup. The iCurve is specifically designed to position the top edge of the Apple PowerBook G4 at 16" high. This is exactly the same height as Apple's 17" LCD monitor. It's also about the same height of Apple's 22" Cinema Display. This makes iCurve perfect for tiling the PowerBook with Apple's LCD monitors. With Apple's 23" HD Cinema Display - that’s almost 3.4 million pixels of side-by-side screen real estate And for the really serious creative Mac enthusiast the ultimate setup has to be an Apple Powerbook / Cinema Display combo. But where do you find desktop wallpaper capable of showing off your new iCurve setup to its full potential? Here.

The ultimate Mac setup. The ultimate Mac wallpaper.

Now, in association with Griffin Technology, we bring you the 'iCurve Collection' of ultra-high resolution desktop wallpapers. All of the images found in this new collection have been specially re-rendered to fit Powerbook / Cinema Displays perfectly. The iCurve collection is still in its infancy. PlasmaDesign is committed to adding a new image to the gallery every fortnight during 2004. The iCurve collection is only available to members of PlasmaDesign.co.uk. Tropic I have focusing on abstract images recently and thought it was time I turned my hand at the landscape stuff again. Created using Vue d'Esprit 4, this wallpaper follows on from my seemingly popular 'Bora' work

The Balcony Based on a photo I came across while browsing through a brochure of the Seychelles, I borrowed the yacht from an earlier image (The Needles). Photoshop was used to add the algae above the waterline of the two submerged rocks. I feel this image is probably the best i have produced yet.

Polar Dawn I have created an awful lot of abstract work so far in 2003. And what landscape images I have created have all been tropical. So I thought I would work at the other end of the spectrum and create an arctic scene. A 1600x1200 pixel version is available to members.

Purple Lake I usually try and create landscapes with as high a degree of realism as possible. This image is an exception to that rule. The atmosphere is obviously not modeled on a typical sky. Instead I opted for something with a little more of a 'fantasy' feel.

On The Golden Pond Being only 28, I only vaguely recollect the Henry Fonda film from which I borrowed the title. All I really remember is the beautiful shots of them fishing on a huge lake in the middle of nowhere. That is what I have tried to capture in this image.

Radial This image is a spin off of an experiment I was doing to add a radial ripple to the lake of one of my landscape images. I feel it fits in well with the other watery themed abstract images found on this page and makes a stylish desktop wallpaper, especially with Mac OS X or Windows XP.

Going Up! 2003 Every now and then I take a look back through my older images to give myself some idea of how far I have progressed. And occasionally I decide to update an earlier piece. The original version of Going Up! (found at the bottom of this page) now looks a little washed out and flat to me so I decided to give it an overhaul.

Jacks I took inspiration for this image while shopping for my kids Christmas presents in the local Toys R Us. There was a small table on display with a set of plastic jacks on it. I remembered having some when I was a child and thought it would make a good theme for a desktop wallpaper as I felt it may take 30 something's on a trip down memory lane.
